Canadian Tire Jumpstart – Individual Child Grant
The Jumpstart program is a community-based charity that helps children in financial need participate in organized sports and recreational activities. Activities can include: hockey, soccer, dance, swimming etc., but do not include summer or day camps. A maximum of $300 per child is funded for eligible families.  To be eligible, a child must be between the ages of 4-18 years. A financial assessment including details about the desired choice of activity, may also be required. There are two submission/application sessions per year:  spring-summer (January 15 – June 1) and fall/winter (July 1 – November 15).

Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation
The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation's mission is to build healthy and vibrant Aboriginal communities in Ontario by helping to develop our youth as future community leaders. The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation can provide funding assistance to help youth become leaders and to work effectively as part of a team, which is imperative to their development, as well as the development of our Aboriginal communities in Ontario.

For the Love of a Child
For the Love of a Child is a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs. It helps bridge the gap between government funding and private insurance.  The goal of our organization is to alleviate some of the financial burden these families endure. Some of the ways we are able to assist children is by providing: Assistive Devices not fully covered by ADP or private insurance;  education, conferences, seminars and courses pertaining to a child’s special needs; equipment such as: bath, car, feeding chairs, mobility devices; recreation and leisure for therapeutic use; day camps.

Kidsport
KidSport Ontario provides under-resourced children and youth, 18 years old and younger, with a season of sport of their choice in existing local sport clubs/programs through a confidential application process for registration and/or equipment subsidy. KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. KidSport provides financial assistance to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Parasport Games Legacy Fund Grant
This grant will provide qualified families with subsidies to help alleviate registration costs for children and youth to participate in Parasport programs in Durham Region. The grant was created following the 2019 Durham Region Ontario Parasport Games and allows families to receive up to $500 annually per child.

Established by the Region of Durham’s sport tourism program, Sport Durham, and administered by Their Opportunity, the Parasport Games Legacy Fund Grant aims to remove financial status as a barrier; allowing more children with disabilities to enjoy the benefits of participating in Parasport programs.

Lucas MacIsaac Memorial Volunteer Scholarship

The Pickering Football Club has been involved with the development of youth soccer in the City of Pickering for many years. We are an organization that promotes the drive of excellence both on and off the field of play

The Pickering Football Club’s All Abilities Lucas MacIsaac Memorial Volunteer Scholarship has been created so that we may recognize those young men and women volunteering with our All Abilities program, who exemplify the “spirit” of Lucas MacIssac. Lucas was a dedicated Volunteer with the All Abilities Program traveling to and from our Pickering Football Club every Saturday morning from Campbellville, Ontario. His passion for the sport of soccer was evident as he mentored our young athletes, leading them in fitness, soccer skills and soccer games.  In addition to volunteering with our All Abilities Program, he also jumped into training with our Blind Soccer program and team mates from the Canada Soccer Para Team. Sadly, Lucas passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 after an 8 year battle with cancer.
