The Pickering Football Club’s All Abilities Program is a unique program which offers children, youth and adults with varying intellectual or physical abilities a chance to have fun, make friends and get fit. We have grown to become one of the largest inclusive soccer/recreational programs programs in Canada.
Our program’s success comes mainly from our dedicated and motivated young volunteer leaders who serve as volunteer mentors and coaches to our athletes.
We are always looking for volunteers to join our program. You will receive specialised training and the opportunity to truly make a difference in our community. Join our team to help us continue to bring much needed sports programs to the many, children, youth and adults in our community who may never get a chance to play and have fun in a sports environment.
As a volunteer with our program, you will receive specialised training as part of our Mandatory Volunteer Training which will prepare you for meeting our athletes on the field. You will be paired up with one of our many athletes, mentoring them during programming. Part of your role is to be a buddy, gently guiding and encouraging participation during our on-field activities and games.
Our winter season is 12 weeks and runs from Jan 13 2024 to April 6 2024 with volunteer opportunities Saturday mornings from 8:45am to 11:15am.
We are located at the Pickering Soccer Centre, 1975 Clements Rd, Pickering ON.
In preparation for our Summer All Abilities programming, our next MANDATORY new volunteer training will be announced closer to the season start.
Please reach out to Coach T at allabilities@pickeringfc.ca if you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering with an amazing and unique program!
We look forward to hearing from you!
The Pickering Football Club has been involved with the development of youth soccer in the City of Pickering for many years. We are an organization that promotes the drive of excellence both on and off the field of play
The Pickering Football Club’s All Abilities Lucas MacIsaac Memorial Volunteer Scholarship has been created so that we may recognize those young men and women volunteering with our All Abilities program, who exemplify the “spirit” of Lucas MacIssac. Lucas was a dedicated Volunteer with the All Abilities Program traveling to and from our Pickering Football Club every Saturday morning from Campbellville, Ontario. His passion for the sport of soccer was evident as he mentored our young athletes, leading them in fitness, soccer skills and soccer games. In addition to volunteering with our All Abilities Program, he also jumped into training with our Blind Soccer program and team mates from the Canada Soccer Para Team. Sadly, Lucas passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 after an 8 year battle with cancer.
