1 of only 39 National Youth Licenced Clubs

Pickering Football Club is extremely proud to be among a select group of Clubs and Academies from across Canada to be awarded the Canada Soccer National Youth License.

As one of only 24 Canada Soccer licensed clubs in Ontario of the 600 clubs, the progress of the Club to reach this milestone started many years ago with the entry into standards based leagues including OPDL and League One. This complimented the Clubs well established recreational and competitive programs and more recently was supported by the opening of our fully accessible Pickering Soccer Centre that now underpins year-round programming, community use, and our commitment to the City of Pickering.

Pickering Football Club is one of the leading soccer clubs in Durham, and the first club in the region to hold licenses to operate in two of the Ontario Soccer (OS) standards-based leagues for both men and women - League1 Ontario (L1O) and the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL). This completes the structure of our Elite Player Pathway (EPP).

In March of 2014 PFC was granted a license in the much anticipated League 1 Ontario, a standards based Pro-Am league designed to bridge the gap for those elite players with aspiration to continue playing the game at the highest level be it the CIS/OCAA the NCAA, the Canadian Professional League (CPL) or Major League Soccer (MLS).

PFC, as license holder, is one of 10 clubs in Ontario to hold both OPDL and L1O licenses, and one of just four clubs to have both male and female squads in both leagues.  This commitment to the EPP for both genders is what sets the Pickering Football Club apart from others in Durham and Ontario.
