Dear Membership,

This update is to inform you of the departure of Corrado Roccasalva as Club President at Pickering FC.

Corrado provided his resignation in writing to the Board in late December and both Board and Staff had hoped that this might be something he would retract after the Christmas break. At this time his energy and focus needs to be on personal interests and we wholeheartedly respect this decision. As Immediate Past President Corrado may, should he choose, still play a part in the Clubs governance. The PFC Board will begin the methodical process of identifying potential successors and in the meantime Executive Vice President Ed Whitehead will oversee the President's duties.

During Corrados tenure on the Board he played a key role in leading the Club to many operational successes that have established Pickering FC as one of Ontario and Canadas most progressive football clubs. This began with the development of a strong partnership with the City of Pickering to complete the launch of the Kinsmen Turf Field and in 2014 the opening of the state-of-the-art Pickering Soccer Centre. Both facilities support the delivery of OPDL and League One programs (for which PFC has been an inaugural license holder) thanks to the passion and commitment of Corrado and the Board to bring high performance programming to the City. During the past decade Corrado has supported the impact of grants focused on; seniors, schools, disability and futsal totalling more than $400,000 and further broadening our impact in the province.

Most recently Corrado has championed the roll-out of the first PFC Strategic Plan (2019-2022) and the completion of a Club-wide rebrand for the first time in 10 years. In June 2019 the Club was recognised as 1 of only 39 Canada Soccer National Youth License Clubs in the country and much of this recognition was established under Corrado's watch.

In addition to Corrado's service on the Board he spent many years as a soccer parent playing the role of Coach and Team Manager for his two sons, Joseph and Marco.

The Club is in a strong position to serve the citizens of Pickering and the wider Durham Region for another 35 years, and the Pickering Football Club Board and Staff owe a huge debt of gratitude to Corrado and wish him nothing but success in the future.

Sincerely,

Pickering Football Club Board
