PICKERING, ONT. - The Pickering Football Club (PFC) is excited to unveil UNO Goalkeepers Academy as the official goalkeeping program provider across our High-Performance and Competitive programs.
UNO replaces PFC’s previous provider - Global Goalkeepers Innovations (GGI) - and fulfills a necessity within our programming while actively solidifying the club’s commitment to fostering the development of Canada’s next elite goalkeepers. The program will spearhead training at each of the club’s levels and serve as a forward-thinking platform to educate PFC’s players and coaching staff in the art and science of goalkeeping.
Through dynamic training sessions, advanced methodology, and data-driven insights, the initiative reinforces the club’s unwavering commitment to cultivating curiosity, discipline, and excellence between the posts. By integrating modern techniques with PFC’s proud tradition, the program ensures a progressive and high-performance culture that empowers every goalkeeper to thrive.
“Our partnership with UNO Goalkeepers Academy sets coaches and players up for unprecedented success,” said Director of Football Operations, Frankie Mohammed. “Our Competitive and High-Performance programs are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with UNO’s amazing staff and take a pivotal step in their developmental journey,” he added.
Led by a professional goalkeeper coach with more than 7 years' experience in the Canadian Premier League and over 15-year training at the top level, UNO Goalkeepers Academy will spearhead the growth of goalkeepers in PFC’s organization while fully aligning with Ontario Soccer’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model.
“UNO Goalkeepers Academy is thrilled to be the official goalkeeper training provider of PFC,” said a member of UNO’s training staff. “UNO is here to not just to teach goalkeepers but help them discover and trust themselves with guidance along the way.”
UNO was established in 2017 and has elevated, recruited, and developed dozens of male and female athletes across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), many of whom have expedited their professional journey in collegiate institutions across Canada and the United States.
The program will begin working with Competitive and High-Performance coaches and athletes on November 14th and run weekly training sessions on Fridays and Saturdays over the course of the indoor season.
